Yakima, WASH--For the last few years, May Day has been a day where immigrant rights groups across the country march to demand immigration reform. Here in Yakima the new Arizona law brought even more people than usual to the streets.
Immigrant rights groups set off from Miller Park and marched through downtown Yakima demanding immigration reform. Many of their signs criticized Arizona's immigration law. The pro-immigrant rally drew at least two thousand supporters. Waiting for them at Yakima avenue though was a counter protest.
Though outnumbered, the 130 or so people in support of Arizona's new law still let their voices be heard.
It's a debate that continues to dominate the headlines... Both nationally and here in Washington
