    LEWISTON, Idaho - The Central Grade Fire was reported at 6:23 pm yesterday afternoon, the fire is approximately 2500 acres as of this morning. Burning in grass on very steep terrain the fire is approximately 70% contained. Interagency response to this Nez Perce Tribe fire began with the Nez Perce Rural Fire District being the first to arrive on the scene. Six Forest Service Smokejumpers jumped the fire last night and have been released from the fire this morning. More >>

Hampshire, age 29, escaped from the Grant County Jail as another subject was being released. Hampshire was being held on felony theft charges.More >>
