    A power line came down sparking a wildfire near Medicine River Road in Vaughn at approximately 2:30 this afternoon. The property owner said he believes the high winds are what caused the power pole to go down. The fire quickly picked up speed and spread across the river and onto an adjacent property. Fire departments who responded include Vaughn, Fort Shaw, Sun River, Cascade County Rural, Manchester, Sand Coulee, Black Eagle, Gore Hill, Montana Air National Guard, and Malmstrom AFB...

    A downed power line sparked a fire near Power Road East, just 16 miles north of Great Falls. Sources close to the newsroom told KFBB the power line came down from the wind. This then caused the fire to rapidly spread east. Carter, the Department of Natural Resources and Conservation, and Power Volunteer fire departments all responded to the fire. According to viewers, the fire was out by around 5:30 this evening. There were no injuries or structures damaged by the fire.More >>

The Safari Club decided on $2,400 after matching the donations from a banquet they held last month. They say they are happy to help, because they are grateful for veterans.
