    UPDATE:   As of Wednesday at noon, the fire has burned 2,500 acres.  Fifty homes are threatened, and another 50 structures are threatened as well.  Four dozers, five 20-person hand crews, two water tenders and 14 engines are attacking the fire. The Confederated Tribes of the Colville Nation Department of Natural Resources says they expect fires to grow Wednesday because of the hot, dry weather and winds.

At its peak the fire was 45 acres. The fire was started during the storm Saturday evening. The cause is uncertain but crews say it was likely due to downed power lines. The fire is burning in far north Spokane County between Newport Highway and Elk-Chattaroy Road.
