Car Accident Blocks Walla Walla Intersection, Send 3 to Hospitals
WALLA WALLA, Wash.-- A car hits a semi-truck west of Walla Walla sending three people to the hospital.
The accident happened around 12:00 a.m. Saturday at State Route 12 and Hussey road, blocking the intersection for more than three hours.
State Patrol Troopers say 21-year-old Desirea Casey of Dayton ran a stop sign hitting the semi-truck. The semi driver wasn't injured, but Casey's two passengers, 20-year-old Courtney Ponticelli and 19-year-old Heather Mercado had to be taken to the hospital. Casey was taken as well, but was treated and released.
Troopers say the passengers weren't wearing their seatbelts. They suspect drugs or alcohol were involved. They also say Casey is being charged with vehicular assault.
