KENNEWICK, Wash.-- A new piece of art was unveiled in downtown Kennewick Monday. The artwork is called "Balancing the Wine."
Artist Tom McClelland had been working on it since last August. It's the third sculpture by him in downtown Kennewick. He also has other art in the Tri-Cities as well as on the west side.
"Balancing the Wine" cost about $30,000. McClelland says that may sound expensive, but it actually created jobs. He explains, "It goes to other people who help create this piece. In this case, all the skilled craftsman and women that helped me cast this piece, the mold makers, the wax workers, the welders."
The Historic Downtown Kennewick Partnership says it's the seventh piece of art in downtown Kennewick, and there's an eighth one already in the works.
