KENNEWICK, Wash-- A Tri-Cities woman has the birthday celebration of a lifetime-- she turned 100.
Pasco native Mary Munekyio spent Sunday ringing in the century mark with dozens of her closest friends at the Hawthorne Court Retirement Center. We wanted to know her secret to staying healthy.
"Well I've got a lot of nephews, nieces and so fourth, so I was blessed with many, many children around me," says Munekyio. "Maybe if I did have children of my own, I would have landed in what we call the nuthouse!"
She says she's seen the Tri-Cities transform economically ever since she was a little girl. And says she saw the U.S. pull out the Great Depression, and says we'll do it again.
