Kennewick Girl Lies About Getting Shot in the Leg

KENNEWICK, Wash-- A teen in East Kennewick gets shot and Benton County Sheriff's Deputies go on a manhunt for two suspects.
The 17 year-old told police two gang members shot her at her home on East 19th Ave, but once at the hospital she changed her story saying she shot herself with her dad's a 45-caliber handgun.

"I heard cop cars flying into my yard and we'd just come home with my new grand-baby and my dog was jumping and barking so I ran straight out here and she was laying on the steps with a police woman helping her and all I could hear was them saying something about a gun shot," said Violet Bricker, who lives across the street.

The Benton County Sheriff's Office says you should never do this because you're putting other lives at risk that are trying to help you and you're holding up resources for people who actually need help.

They also locked down Washington Elementary School that is also on East 19th Ave. There is a possibility that she will be charged with false reporting.
