University Leaders From Mexico Visit the Tri-Cities
KENNEWICK, Wash.-- Staff from the University of Nayarit in Mexico were at Southridge High School touring the campus.
They say they're very impressed by some of the technology and curriculum from many of the schools in the Tri-Cities.
The University of Nayarit is located in Tepic, Mexico. These leaders also visited Columbia Basin College.
These visits have all been made possible by some networking from the Columbia Center Rotary and the Tepic Rotary Club in Mexico.
"There's a good connection between the education system and the technological industries in the region, and other industries as well, this model is very interesting to us," said Omar Wicab, the CEO of the University.
Staff from this university also say they're planning on opening a new campus in the next year.
They have about 20,000 students at their current campus. On Tuesday, they will visit the Tri-Tech skills center in Kennewick.
