KENNEWICK, Wash - If you have a coupon for a Digital TV converter box and it has expired, you are in luck.
The deadline for applications has been pushed back. Right now, there are 17 million coupons that are outstanding and have not been cashed in. So now, the deadline for applications has been pushed back until July 31st.
The recent stimulus package added more money into the coupon program, which gives households with expired ones another chance to apply.
The program limits coupons to two per household.
It's on a first come first serve basis and covers most of the cost for a digital converter box.
Coupons expire 90 days after being mailed out and the expiration date is printed on the card for you.
Congress delayed the DTV conversion until June 12th, but some television stations have already made the switch including ours.
