One Northwest business man forks out billions of dollars...for his second ride of a lifetime.
American billionaire Charles Simonyi is on his second trip to the International Space station.
The Bellevue businessman blasted into space this morning on a Russian rocket.
One of those watching the lift off was Simonyi's friend and Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen.
Allen says he'd like to go into space - on his own rocket. He's bankrolling the SpaceShipOne program.
Also on the Russian rocket with a Russian cosmonaut, is American astronaut Michael Barratt.
Barratt grew up in Camas, Wash., where his parents still live. He graduated from the University of Washington.
Simonyi paid a total of 60 million dollars for the two space trips combined. He'll return to earth in 13 days.
