Hanford High Delivers on Food Drive

Posted: Updated:
Richland, WA- Some WSU students holding a food drive this month say they're surprised by the response of their neighbors at Hanford High School.

Hanford High School students today rolled out more than 500 pounds of  food they've collected over the past few weeks.

The WSU students enlisted the high school students to help replenish the shelves of the Tri-Cities Food Bank.

Mike Winkel says he's surprised how the Hanford students took his food drive so seriously. "Yeah. We're going to do another pick up tomorrow. We're happy to see the kids took it seriously."

Winkel says a lot of people donated after seeing our story about the food drive a few weeks back.

All the donations will go to the Richland branch of the Tri-Cities Food Bank.
