Wapato's Robo Sparks Team Begins Robotics Competition in Seattle

Posted: Updated:

WAPATO, Wash-- Back in February we brought you the story of the Robo Sparks. They're a group of Wapato students who built a robot for a statewide robotics competition.

Now they're in Seattle gearing-up for the competition which starts Friday. 16 students and four adults made the trip.

We checked in with Christopher Beyrouty. He's one of the teachers helping the Robo Sparks team.

"They're anxious to get started and get out there on the practice mat. It's a new experience for all of us and we're just really, really excited about it," said Beyrouty.

Thursday the team got the robot ready for inspection. Tomorrow is the first round of battles with 64 teams are competing. We'll continue to keep you updated on how the Robo Sparks are doing.
