YAKIMA -- Yakima students want your vote for their bond on May 19th.

Student leaders from Eisenhower, Davis and Stanton held a news Thursday afternoon at the Yakima Valley Museum to get support for the bond.

$144 million is in local money and $104 million is in matching funds. The money will going towards a new Eisenhower High School, a remodel of Davis, and funding to Stanton Academy, Garfield, Hoover. McKinley, Nob Hill and Discovery Lab schools.

Safety and technology are the big concerns.

Eisenhower High student, Alyssa Patrick says, "I've been to so many schools across the state that have these facilities that I never knew was possible because I've been in a building that again has great teachers but the building limits us."

Students will be making phone calls and holding signs around the city. They will hold a kickoff rally at Franklin Park on March 24th.
