SELAH, Wash-- In a small town like Selah news travels fast. It wasn't long after Selah High School Principal, Joe Jones, handed in his resignation letter that people were asking why.
The Selah community brought their concerns to the school board Thursday night. Emotional testimony from parents, teachers and students. All asking the board to not accept Jones' resignation.
There are speculations abound as to why Jones chose to resign. What we do know is the community will not have it.
"You people would be making an absolute wrong decision to let Joe go. All I'm saying is do not except Joe Jones' resignation tonight," said Brian Harris, Selah resident.
The board heard over an hour worth of public comment tonight. However, legally they cannot respond to matters of personnel.
The board did decide to table Jones' resignation until a meeting on April 9th at 7:00 p.m. The location of that meeting has not yet been determined.
