Albertson's pharmacy robbed at gunpoint
SPOKANE, Wash. - Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred 10:00 Sunday morning at the Albertson's grocery store located at 510 E. 37th on Spokane's South Hill.
Police say a white male, between 50 and 60 years-old, walked into the store and displayed a handgun at the pharmacy counter. When the suspect displayed his weapon the pharmacist ran into a bathroom, locked the door and called 911.
The suspect then began to fill up two green eco-friendly grocery bags with an unknown quantity Oxycontin and other prescription medications.
The suspect then left the store in an unknown direction. Police don't know if he left the area on on foot or in a vehicle.
Police say the suspect is a white male who appears to be around 50 years-old, 6 feet tall, 150 lbs., had a gray scruffy beard and used a purple scarf to cover his mouth. He was wearing a gray baseball cap and gray sweat-shirt.
Albertson's employees told police the suspect matches the description of the man who robbed the same store on January 4th, 2009.
