Rookie Plays Big Part in Ams Series Win

Posted: Updated:
KENNEWICK, Wash. -- Movin on up, the Ams now face the Kelowna Rockets in their WHL 2nd round series.

The Ams are 2 and 2 this season against the Rockets. The Ams closed out the Everett Silvertips Saturday night with a 6-1 win.

Two of those goals came from rookie Jordan Messier. They were his first two goals of the post season.

The Ams hope Messier can keep producing for games 1 and 2 against Kelowna, Friday and Saturday at the Toyota Center.

After the game, the rookie just wanted to thank teammate Brendan Shinniman.

Messier says, "It felt really good. It was a couple really nice passes from Shinny. So all I had to do was put her in, so thanks to him for the nice pass. We had a tough loss at home and then won two big games in Everett. We just came out hard and did the job."
