New State Representative David Taylor Ready to Work Hard for 15th District
OLYMPIA, Wash. - New state representative David Taylor arrived at the state capitol late Tuesday morning for his first day of work.
He talked to KNDO by phone about the agricultural communities of Yakima and Klickitat counties. Taylor said he will be following the ground water issues for those communities closely. He also talked about the challenge of running for election this fall.
"My pledge to the people of the 15th district and Yakima County in particular is I'm gonna work hard," he said. "I'm going to get re-elected, and get re-elected in 2010 and at that point we can really start moving forward."
Taylor is an agricultural consultant from Moxee. Commissioners from the district's four counties appointed him to the position Monday.
He replaces Dan Newhouse, who left the seat last month to become state agriculture director.
