Softball Tournament Might Bring Big Bucks to Tri-Cities
PASCO, Wash-- Talk about the perfect weather for a weekend-long batch of softball games. Over 100 softball teams from all around the northwest showed up for the third annual Ice-Breaker Tournament. It's a series of matches for girls ages 10-18.
The tournament director says because the event draws in so many, it helps boost the local economy.
"All the teams are mostly from outside the Tri-Cities area, so they're all staying at hotels, eating at the restaurants here, bringing a lot of money to the Tri-Cities," says Steve Jensen.
Jensen says this weekend's tournament may have generated over $1 million. He says the Tri-Cities is the perfect venue because of our constant sunshine.
