Tri-City Americans vs. Kelowna Rockets, Game 2, in Rhyme and Verse
KENNEWICK, Wash. --For those of you who saw the Tri-City Americans comeback win against Kelowna Saturday night. It was a beautiful thing, like poetry.
Here is Ams/Kelowna Game 2 in rhyme and verse:
The Ams Stepped onto the Toyota Center Ice,
thinking a 2-nothing lead would be quite nice.
But the Rockets were firing,
a couple of goals with no signs of tiring.
The Ams were down a couple at the end of 2.
Things looked bleak, let me tell you.
But with a Brooks Macek goal, there was a spark.
And a Petr Stoklasa flick was on the mark.
With the score tied at 2 fans got loud
and the place erupted when Taylor Procyshen's goal fired up the crowd.
The Ams had won it with 3 in the 3rd.
Would finishing the Rockets off in Kelowna be totally absurd?
CAN THEY WIN IN KELOWNA?
Goaltender Chet Pickard said, "It's going to be tough. We knew that right from the start. Kelowna's a great team over there and we just got to bring our 'A' game every night."
Head Coach Don Nachbaur says, "We've taken care of the home ice advantage. Our next task is to go into the opposition's building and try and win a hockey game. And that's not an easy place to win against an excellent hockey team. We're the first team in 19 or 20 games that has knocked them off. They've been pretty successful and we understand that."
