Nurse Testifies at Jail Rape Trial

Posted: Updated:
Pasco, WA-  An emergency room nurse testifying in a rape trial says she found the defendant's hair on the victim.

David Webster is accused of raping a cellmate at the Franklin County jail.

Registered nurse at Lourdes Medical Center Gerrianne Patterson says because the victim was borderline hysterical, the sexual assault exam that normally lasts about two hours took twice as long.

"He was told by his jail mate that when he got out he would find him and shoot him and he would hurt his children," Patterson told the jury.

The nurse says during the rape kit  exam she detected a black hair, later determined to be from Webster.

Today Superior Court Judge Cameron Mitchell directed all courthouse employees not to discuss the trial to each other because several guards and other workers may be called to testify.
