Two Kamiakin Volleyball Players Sign Letters of Intent
KENNEWICK, Wash, - Kamiakin's star outside hitter isn't going to a D-1 school, but she's perfectly fine with that. Thursday the CBL MVP signed a letter of intent with Central Washington. Despite great stats, Hjellum was not heavily recruited because shes not 6 feet tall. "I'm happy at a Division Two school," she said. "I have volleyball and will also get the college experience and be able to actually get my education and focus on that too." Hjellum's teammate Shelby Swanson also landed a D-2 scholarship, signing with Seattle Pacific. "Im happy with where I'm going," she said. "It's Seattle. Its an awesome city and I'm not very far away." Both players were coached by Mary Opitz.
