Spokane Socks Fever 62-32

SPOKANE, Wash. - The Spokane Shock flexed its muscles tonight scoring on every offensive possession of the night on their way to a 62-32 win over Division-rival the Tri-Cities Fever.  The fever fall to 0-3 on the year.
Tonight's performance displayed all the strengths of an experienced Shock roster as they picked up their fifth-straight win against the Fever, and their second divisional win of the season.   The Shock showed off their defense by holding the Fever to just four touchdowns while scoring a touchdown of their own when DL Justin Warren picked up a fumble and returned it 35 yards to the endzone late in the second quarter.   The Shock defense put constant pressure on Fever QB Joe Ayoob holding him to just 175 yards, four touchdowns and a completion percentage of just 48 percent. Warren and Defensive Player of the Game Ben McCombs never let up taking Ayoob to the turf twice, accounting for the Shock's two sacks of the night.   DB Sergio Gilliam, who led the league in interceptions last year (16), took advantage of the QB pressure accounting for three of the team's six pass break-ups and picked off the team's only interception of the game late in the fourth quarter.   "It feels good to finally get it out of the way," Gilliam said. "I wish I would have done it last week but I was being patient and I'm just glad I was able to get that pick."   The offense also capitalized on what the defense gave them and added eight more touchdowns to the board before the evening was over. QB Nick Davila accounted for six of the Shock's seven touchdowns finding a variety of targets in the endzone including Raul Vijil, Charles Dillon, and Ironman of the Game Lee Foliaki and Offensive Player of the Game Andy Olson.   "It doesn't matter if it's me, Pat (Bugg), Raul (Vijil) or (Charles) Dillon, it doesn't matter we have great talent and we're going to put up numbers no matter who's out there." Olson said. "Coach gave me a lot of opportunities tonight and I was lucky to capitalize on those."
The Fever host Southern Georgia next Saturday.
