Pasco, WA- A man accused of rape says sheriff's deputies mistreated him inside the Franklin County Jail.
David Webster is acting as his own attorney. He is calling several jail guards to the stand, asking them why they kept him shackled when his family visited, let him out of his cell for only one hour a day, and put his food on the floor instead of on a tray.
The jail guards say they were following procedure for troublesome inmates.
Webster is accused of raping a cellmate inside the county jail.
The alleged rape happened just days after a jury convicted Webster of assault and murder for hire.
Webster is currently serving 26 years in prison for that conviction.
