Benton City Newly Wed Soldier Comes Home for Two Weeks

Posted: Updated:

PASCO, Wash-- A newly wed soldier returns home to a big surprise at the Pasco Airport Sunday.

Kimberly Nelson had no idea her family and the Tri-Cities ACES Club would be there when her plane arrived. The Benton City Native had been in North Carolina for the past 14 months working as an Army Medic.

Just last week she married another soldier, Kyle Nelson, who is from North Carolina. It was a bittersweet homecoming for Kimberly her husband is deploying to Iraq Monday.

"It's wonderful seeing all of them here, it blew my mind," said Nelson.

Nelson had not seen her sister or niece for more than a year. Kimberly is home for the next two weeks; her husband could be overseas for more than a year.
