More Delays at Webster Trial

Posted: Updated:
Pasco, WA-  A rape trial initially expected to last about ten days has entered its third week with further delays.

David Webster is accused of raping a cellmate inside The Franklin County Jail. He's acting as his own attorney.

Today Webster lost several battles over whom he could call to testify.

Judge Cameron Mitchell told Webster he couldn't call his four, former lawyers because their testimony isn't relevant to the current charges against him.

The judge also won't allow Webster to question the attorney of the alleged victim.

Judge Mitchell recessed the trial last Friday when several witnesses Webster wanted to bring to the stand hadn't shown up to the courthouse.

Pending any further delays, the jury could begin deliberations later this week.
