Yakima City Council Has An Open Seat Right Now

YAKIMA, Wash. - The City Council starts this week in search of a new member to replace Neil McClure.

Monday's City of Yakima Media Briefing touched on the opening.  Council member Rick Ensey said the council would take on the issue Tuesday night.

He says they will fill the vacancy quickly and depend on their newest additions to the council to be fast learners.

"We can't slow down business obviously," said Ensey.  "It's one of these kinds of jobs that you jump in and you got to catch up with the rest of the group so I hope whoever is doing it has a good pair of running shoes."

The opening was created when Neil McClure resigned last week.  A complaint has been filed with the city stating Ensey discussed a budget vote before the meeting.

Ensey says he believes none of his colleagues did anything wrong.
