Posted: Updated:

HERMISTON, OR--  Dive rescue was called out around 8 p.m. Sunday night to find a man reportedly last seen in the Cold Springs Reservoir.  They were unsuccessful in finding any body in the water.

The alleged spot of drowning is a few miles down a dirt road.  The Umatilla Sheriff's Office says three men were reportedly attempting to rescue a 20-month-old baby who had fallen into the water.

The baby was rescued, but one of the men that dove in the water--the baby's uncle, 35-year-old Ignacio Lucas Amezcua--never re-surfaced.

That's when dive rescue was called in.  They searched for roughly three hours Sunday.

As for the the 20-month-old, he was taken to Good Shephered Hospital in Hermiston where he is listed in good condition.

Rescue crews are continuing their search.  Dive rescue tells KNDU they're scheduled to go back out Tuesday.
