Anonymous Letter Causing Concern in the Richland School District
RICHLAND, Wash. - The Richland School District is investigating an anonymous letter with claims of sexual harrassment in the Richland High Girls Soccer Team.
The district held a meeting Tuesday concerning the letter. It was mailed to administrators of Richland High School, KNDU, as well as some players of the Richland Girls Soccer Team.
In it, a parent claims another player has been sexually harassing their daughter who also plays on the team. But after talking to the players, and from the meeting Tuesday, the district suspects the allegations to be false, and they believe the letter may have been fabricated to purposely target a student.
But whether it's false or not, the school district is taking this very seriously.
"So far we've found that there aren't any claims in the letter that are substantiated and it could be even totally false. It's a concern when an anonymous letter could try to damage a high school student in a community like that, it's a rather alarming situation," said Steve Aagaard with the Richland School District.
Aagaard said the district will continue it's investigation to determine who wrote the letter. The attorney for the school district is investigating as well. The Richland Police Department has also been notified of the situation.
