PASCO, Wash. - The David Webster trial is almost over. The local jury could begin deliberations tomorrow. Webster is the man accused of raping his jail cellmate.
The prosecution and defense gave their closing arguments today. Acting as his own attorney, David Webster pleaded with the jury saying he did not rape his cellmate. For the majority of his closing arguments Webster argued he was the victim, that he's being set up, and it's now his job to expose the real criminal.
"They forget that I'm the one being set up. They forget that I'm the one that brought them here to expose him," said Webster.
The prosecution tried to prove the sexual act was not consensual, but rather forced. The prosecutor, Melanie Tratnik, will give her rebuttal Thursday morning, then it goes to the jury to agree on a verdict.
