98-Year-Old Kennewick Man Gearing Up to Run Bloomsday
KENNEWICK, Wash.-- Runners and walkers all over the Northwest are gearing up for the 33rd annual Bloomsday race this Sunday in Spokane.
Victor Rogers is from Kennewick and he's one of them. He's 98-years-old and one of the oldest people to ever be a part of Bloomsday. He's run nearly every year since 2001. Last year it took him four hours to finish, but he's confident he'll do better this year. Rogers says, "I improved this year so much, that I'm planning to make it in 2 hours."
Rogers walks four to five miles every single morning and also trains on a stair-stepper and with ankle weights. He says he plans to keep participating in Bloomsday as long as he can.
