Yakima Council Announces Preferred Site for Proposed Aquatic Center
YAKIMA--With plans for the Yakima Aquatic Center on life support, Yakima City Council announces a preferred site for the center: the old Boise Cascade Mill site.
The mill's been rumored as a possible place for the aquatic center for some time. The council's trying to entice Union Gap and Selah officials to jump on board with the plan.
One council member wants to see concrete plans for the center.
"Let's get a plan in front of us that we understand," Rick Ensey, Yakima City Council, said. "If the majority of the council wants to move forward to work with it let's get it down to voters but we've been at it for three years we need to get this process finished up."
Ensey hopes to see those plans brought before the Yakima Council in the next few months.
