New Yakima Council Member To Be Sworn In Tuesday Night
YAKIMA, Wash. - The newest member of the Yakima City Council will be sworn in Tuesday night.
Council member Bill Lover said Monday at the city's media briefing he is excited to see Maureen Adkison join the group. He says the council has a lot of work and need her to move forward. Lover would not comment on the recent developments in the complaint against him and two other council members.
"None of the council members have been briefed on it yet, hopefully we'll get some type of briefing today and tomorrow and maybe even since it's pending litigation," he said. "We may even put it into an executive session tomorrow. "
Lover says the complaint was brought to his attention on Friday. It calls for an investigation into the voting practices of certain members of the council related to the budget.
