BENTON CITY, Wash.-- They weren't looking for drugs, but Benton County deputies find what they believe is a meth lab.
Wednesday afternoon, Benton County Deputies were at a trailer in Benton City testing for chemicals and equipment used to make meth. It's in the Kiona Village trailer park at 31404 East Kennedy Road.
The investigation into the trailer started late last night or early this morning when Deputies responded to the call of a disturbance at trailer 38. There, they found two people and suspected marijuana and a pipe. Once they got a search warrant, they found another person hiding, as well as chemicals and tools believed to be used to make methamphetamine. Around noon Wednesday, a special team trained to enter potentially toxic places went in the trailer to process evidence, as well at protect the health of anyone nearby.
One person was arrested on unrelated charges, but no word yet if anyone has been arrested on drug charges.
