KENNEWICK, Wash. - There are more than 700 adults in the Tri-Cities living with disabilities and a group is discussing how to provide housing and employment for them.
A new organization called Modern Living Services introduced what they describe as a campus type living area for the disabled.
Dozens gathered Thursday night at Benton PUD to hear about it and ask questions. They're talking about building a small community with specially designed housing units where the disabled can have the option of living in one area. Within the area would be different outlets of employment like cooking to gardening.
Representatives Brad Klippert, Maureen Walsh and Larry Haler were all at the meeting to listen to the comments and concerns. Many expressed how things need to change in the area to better serve those living with disabilities.
