Organizers Expecting Big Turnout for Untapped Blues Festival
KENNEWICK, Wash. -- Organizers for the 13th Annual Untapped Blues Festival say they could see a record turnout this year.
They're expecting well over 3,000 people to attend the event. Dave Nichols, head organizer for the festival, says a lot of people waited to make sure the weather would be nice and ticket sales boomed this week. According to Nichols, 52 local businesses were directly involved in putting on the festival and many others will benefit financially.
"All the vendors are essentially local vendors. All the food vendors are local. Most of the brewers are local. So we're really pouring a lot of money into the business community and bringing great entertainment value to the customers", says Nichols.
The festival runs from noon to 11pm Saturday at the Benton County Fairgrounds. Tickets are $30 at the gate and you must be 21 or older to get in.
