Kadlec Medical Center in Richland Announces Major Expansion
RICHLAND, Wash.-- Kadlec staff announced their plan to build out the top four floors of their new River Pavilion.
This will add a hundred and one beds to the hospital. Kadlec has already submitted a letter of intent to the state as the first part of the application process. The chief executive officer says the hospital is usually functionally full.
This means on weekends they often have to turn patients away because there aren't enough beds. The project will add up to 400 jobs to the hospital and about 150 jobs in construction.
"We're excited that the community is expanding, that our economy is healthy, that we're one of the strongest places to live in the us from an economy perspective, and we're excited to be able to be in a position to meet the needs of the community," said
Right now construction on the 5th floor of the River Pavilion is underway. It will be their new Pediatric Center.
On the 6th floor they plan to add 29 medical beds. Those plans will go before the board for final approval next week. Construction could begin this Summer.
