Dental Hygiene Students Looking for Test Patients

Posted: Updated:

YAKIMA--Yakima Valley Community College students gave their Saturday morning to do free dental screenings.

Not only are the dental hygienists-in-training are getting ready for their exams, but they are also providing free checkups and cleaning services to people who can't afford to go to the dentist.

"We usually let them know after that what exams would cost and then x-rays," student Amber Clark said.  "Right now we're just looking at patients and trying to get an idea of what they need and if they meet our requirements [to serve as test patients.]"

About 20 people showed up today, but they're always accepting patients.

Just stop by Martin Hall at YVCC.  It's on the corner of 16th Ave. and Nob Hill Blvd.
