Fire destroys Spokane Valley mobile home

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. - Fire crews from the Spokane Valley Fire Department responded at 7:38 Sunday morning to the report of a mobile home fire at King's Court Trailer Park located at 4706 E. 1st  Ave. When fire crews arrived they found a single wide mobile home at space engulfed in flames.

Spokane Valley Police units were also dispatched and assisted with the rescue of residents of a neighboring home that was damaged from the flames.

One male was in the home at the time of the fire. He indicated that there was a candle burning in the home and he awoke to flames in the living room. He was able to escape without injuries.

The exact cause of the fire in still under investigation. 20 firefighters responded and were able to control the fire within 10 minutes.

This home did not have working smoke detectors. The Fire Department encourages residents to check their smoke detectors to be sure they are in working order. If a resident cannot afford the cost of the smoke detector, they are available for free at any Spokane Valley Fire Station.
