RICHLAND, Wash-- A Richland family is picking up the pieces after waking up to find their backyard in flames. The fire department is not sure what caused a garage behind a home on the 500 block of Endress Ave. to catch fire.
The fire woke up the entire neighborhood, as flames tore through a motor home, garage, and a car. The Richland Fire Department arrived within minutes. The good news is no homes were damaged, but the family's uncle, who was between homes, had all of his belongings stored in the garage.
He says he lost everything.
"20 years almost of things we've accumulated and have been given, you just can't replace right away," said Chad Reed.
The family says they have renters insurance and are thankful the fire did not get their house, or their boat and most importantly no one was injured. The Richland Fire Department says the cause of the fire is under investigation and will have more information next week.
