KENNEWICK, Wash. - A fifteen-year-old Kennewick girl accidentally drives into a house, sending her mom to the hospital.
The girl just recently got her permit and was driving with her mom to her uncles house just a block away from where she lives. The uncle, Jeff Weaver, suspects his niece may have pushed on the gas pedal rather than the brake as she was turning into his driveway. The car then accelerated hitting a boulder and a tree, went threw a fence and into a neighbors house.
Weaver said he rushed to see what he said sounded like an explosion.
"I can't express how scary it was to see the roof flattened, rushing up to them and the relief of their voices saying we're o.k.," said Weaver.
A board went straight into the passenger side of the car, cutting the mother's forehead. She was rushed to KGH, but the uncle said she'll be all right.
The owners of the home are not being let inside. Authorities feared if they took out the car, the dining room might collapse.
