Walking to Raise Money for Developmentally Disabled Kids

TERRACE HEIGHTS--People walk to support kids with developmental disabilities.

Saturday's "Walk With Me" event in Sarg Hubbard Park benefits Jane's House, a childhood development center that helps primarily low-income families.

Easter Seals of Washington runs this event and Jane's House.

One mom who has an autistic son said the help she gets from Jane's House keeps her four-year-old from falling behind other kids.

"The social development has been a really big important part that he's been able to learn and participate with in Easter Seals classrooms," Lori Rew said.  "The teachers help him with the milestones and stuff that he needs to hit."

Nearly 200 people walked Saturday, raising more than $11,000.
