Richland Parks & Recreation Loan Life Jackets for River Fun

Posted: Updated:

RICHLAND, Wash - Richland Parks and Recreation is making it safer for you to spend time at the river this summer.

Beginning this weekend and continuing through Labor Day,  you'll be able to borrow life jackets  from a special cabinet in Howard Amon and Leslie Groves Parks.

You can use the life jackets for all or part of a day and simply return them to the check-out station before you head home.

"Particularly for youth 12 and under onboard boats 19 feet or less...they have to wear a life jacket and if you have visitors from out of town and you don't have life jackets that fit that age group,  then it makes the life jackets available so they could go out for the day and not necessarily have to go out and buy a life jacket." Says Doug Stong from Richland Parks and Recreation Dept.

You may also borrow life jackets from the Richland Community Center South of Lee Blvd. in Richland during business hours.
