KENNEWICK, Wash-- It's Memorial Day weekend and many people are getting out of town, but KNDU wanted to see how they feel about rising gas prices.
The average price for unleaded gas in the Tri-Cites is almost $2.59, that's up from last week and with the rising prices and this being a three-day weekend KNDU wanted to see how people heading out of town feel about the increases.
"It's difficult for us to understand why the politicians have done whatever they've done to make this sort of thing happen," said Judy Goodner, going on motorcycle vacation.
"I believe that the American people have been taken advantage of between corporate power and the powerful oil companies," said Dan Golden, driving to Hermiston.
"If you look at the cost of $2.50 a gallon compared to inflation over the last 20 to 30 years it's still a very good value," Patrick Jilek, going on a boy scouts trip with his son.
Most of the people KNDU talked to say the rising gas prices are not keeping them from taking a vacation this Memorial Day weekend.
