West Valley Baseball Team's Magical Season Continues

Posted: Updated:

YAKIMA, Wash. -- In Prep baseball, the Richland Bombers, the Selah Vikings, Naches Valley, and DeSales all are on their way to the state semis. The Touchet Indians will play in the 1B State Championship game.

The West Valley Rams will also play in the state semis this weekend at Safeco Field. West Valley will take on O'Dea Friday on Friday.

The Rams are a team that players say, continues to exceed expectations.

"Everybody is playing better than any of us thought we would," says Rams Catcher Brad Andreas. "We figured we might go in and be low on pitching but everyone has been exceeding everyone's expectations. It's turning out a lot better than we thought it would."

"It doesn't matter if a kid hits a home run or strikes out," says Rams Head Coach Clayton Wyckoff. "The next pitch, it's forgotten. It's a short term memory and these guys have really bought into that too. The idea from here on out is to forget everything, go out and play the game with fun and emotion, and things are going to take care of themselves."
