Yakima Customers Warn Others to Watch out for a Yard Service Scam

Posted: Updated:
YAKIMA, Wash.- Making sure you know who you're doing business with is important, because if you don't, you might get ripped off. Yakima customers say they are victims of yard service scam.

Johnny Brown owns the company Sky High. Over a dozen customers complained about Brown, saying they hire him to do yard work, pay up front, and then never hear from him again.

Because of this the better business bureau gave brown's business an F, the lowest rating a business can get. One customer said she paid Brown a total of $568.00 to trim her trees and clean up her yard. He picked a few weeds the first day, then never came back. She tried calling him and every time he said he would show up, he never did. Connie Gotzh says she wants other people to be aware of Johnny Brown's yard service and to not be fooled by his story.

"You feel bad for him because he says he has no money and he's trying to buy a home and I paid him in full and its the dumbest thing I've ever done," said Conie Gohtz, a customer of Johnny Brown.

"So the lady got mad but I told her just give me another week and I can refund you some of the work," said Johnny Brown, owner of Sky High yard service.

Customers say they've heard Johnny Brown say this before. If Brown doesn't pay up what he owes, customers like Connie say they're going to take him to court.
