KENNEWICK, Wash. -- Two patrol had their lights flashing as they moved through the streets of Kennewick and Richland early Thursday morning, but they were only going about 5 miles per hour as they escorted an officer through her leg of a statewide relay run.
Washington state has been a part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run since 1982. It's a national event that raises money for the Special Olympics. Since the first run in 1981, more than $35 million has been raised.
The relay is expected to reach Yakima by about 3:00 or 4:00 pm on Thursday.
