YAKIMA--The economy may be the reason more than a hundred people came to check out a new apartment complex in Yakima on Sunday.
Castle Creek Apartments on Nob Hill Boulevard had an open house Sunday.
While the recession's hurt some housing projects, the construction manager said it's part of the reason so many people showed up today.
"A lot of people that are here today have been people that have been challenged to try to make ends meet in their existing homes," Project Construction Manager Glen Durall said.
Durall said about 10 people put down money for apartments today.
The first 18 units open July 1. They hope to have 126 units ready for move-in by October.
