Third TEA Party of the Year in Richland

Posted: Updated:

RICHLAND, Wash.--  Protesters gathered at John Dam Plaza for another TEA party Wednesday.
It's the third so far this year.

TEA stands for Taxed Enough Already.  The first gatherings were back in April on tax day, and then again on May first.  Wednesday there were fewer people, but their message was the same.  They want limited government, fiscal responsibility, and of course, fewer taxes.

Mike McDaniel got involved because he wants more people to get involved.  He's on the board of directors for the local TEA Party group and says, "I'm here to bring up the political awareness of folks in the neighborhoods here.  We have to establish this grassroots movement to get people involved and let them know what the government is doing."

The local TEA party group will have a picnic at Columbia Park on the 4th of July.  Their next big, national event will be on September 12th.
