Netting a Big Winner at the Naches Football Fundraiser
CLEAR LAKE--Fishers at Clear Lake had a chance at big money Saturday.
They braved the chilly weather, trying to catch fish worth anywhere from $100 to $1,000.
It's a Naches Valley High School football fundraiser.
Anyone who wanted to fish paid $20 for a chance at seven tagged "money" fish.
We caught up with the man who caught the $1,000 fish.
He didn't realize how big of a catch he'd made.
"We fished about another hour [after catching the fish] and we brought it up to the trailer and our number was on there," Bill Tilton said. "The guy looked at me and says, 'you won the big money fish!' It was something else."
Tilton plans to use the money to buy new fishing equipment.
The Naches Valley football team will use the proceeds to pay for their gear, and a summer camp at Central Washington University.
